The adventures of Serum part 1.

[Senyx The Soulless one]

As the squad muddled along the dried wasteland, It became more and more quiet, The sand was kicking up, Making visibility low, And that's when it dawned on Serum, This was a commonly used Goblin tactic, The Goblin mages would use wind magic to kick the sand up, Setting it perfectly for an Ambush, This was a widely feared tactic for it's unavoidability, So in a panic, the members scrambled, Instead of forming the "Legion Circle" A formation where everyone had their backs to each other, Preventing any cheap shots.
And before we knew it, They were on us, The staunch smell of rancid meat from one animal or another and the musky scent of stagnant cave water, And the ringing of steel and shouts of excitement and surprise, But the sand was our disadvantage, And we knew it, One by one, The sound was leaving, And the shouts were dying, And then.....


It was just him, Serum, Waking up, In some dark place, A dim light could be seen coming from the room in front of him, But his hands were chained up, And his legs were bound. Looking aorund, Serum saw several other bodies, Whether they were conscious or not was a mystery, As the ambience of the caves surely blotted out all the sound breathing makes.
And then he heard it, A booming voice that was the command of the Goblins, The Goblin King, He was nearby, And he sounded mad, Serum was wiggling frantically trying to escape, But to no avail, The footsteps were closer now, And there was apparently more then one pair of them, As well, Just when they arrived at the door, Serum heard a sound, Almost like clinking armor, And more shouts, Ringing steel and a thud, And the gate swung open, To reveal 4 people.....

As Serum strained his eyes to see into the doorway, The four figures were mumbling quietly, After a minute or so, One of them walked into the room, Checking the bodies (?) one by one, And eventually, arrived to Serum, "This one is still alive" The voice said, It was a gruff, hardened voice, Lined with age.

"Take him with us, No doubt we'll need the extra sword arm" Said another voice, Slightly younger, More like a teenage boy. As they all were preparing, The chains holding Serum down popped loose and he stood up.
"Who are you people, And why did you save me?" Said Serum,
questioningly.
"We are the Uruga Collective, We were sent to rescue a certain person, Matching your description, You should be grateful, They payed a lot of money to get ahold of you, Uruga's finest does no mission cheaply." Said the teenage boy again.
"Uruga's finest....? You're like.. 15! And why did they want to rescue ME? I'm just another sword in the Legion's toy chest." Replied Serum.
"They want something from you, And unfortunately, They'll be getting it, Whether you like it or not. Now, Can you wield a sword?" The boy tossed Serum a rather gaudy looking blade from a fallen goblin sentry, "I-I think i can, So where do we have to go?" Said serum, Letting the sword weigh down in his hand.
"The contact is waiting in the Execution grounds just past the Prison, We will rendevouz there, And you must be on one piece as well, So don't let us down"Said the boy, A bit more professionally.

"What's your guys' name, Anyway?" Asked serum, Questioningly.
"I am Relfar, That is all you need to know" Said the young boy
"This is Julio Cortes, Our scout, Ramidar Llanius, The mage, And our Healer, Sandria, Though her REAL name is unknown." Relfar explained. So with the introductions underway, They walked out of the cell, To begin the long walk to the Execution grounds, Unknown as to what waits them there.
