And the good spells have major cool down times that really hurt us.
Can't help but notice how far OT this has gotten for a post that's focused (no longer) on Teva or Apoline..

Okay, lets get this straight. EVERY class relies on main skill in which they spam a lot. It just so happens for mages, MM1 is the best out of all MM levels. Your low damage for the cooldown makes up for the fact that you do less damage than all your high cooldown skills like ice, lit, and fire. In case you haven't noticed, mages generally do outdamage archers as well, which is why mages are the dpsers. I don't even need to mention fighters or clerics as they don't come close to your killing speed or damage at all.

So essentially, you want to lower cooldowns on your higher level skills, making mages gain even MORE of an advantage than they already have?

Mages do not have an advantage over anyone. The only reason Mages are such great DPSers is because they can pop off 4+ spells within usually a five second span then spam MM[01]. But they still don't do that much damage (in my opinion). Maybe you think they do but thats your opinion. And yes, I want them to lower the cool down times on higher leveled spells. I think 15+ seconds is too much. I think it should be at 10 seconds or allow the empowering to reduce the cool down time a little bit more than it already does. You know, you really shouldn't attack other peoples opinions. I don't mind discussing mind but you're just flat out attacking me. Cool down, its just a game and its just my opinion on a class in that game.

If you don't think they do "that much damage", what would archers be? Archers hit for less damage than mages.

Also, good job contradicting yourself. If mages are "great DPSers" and archers hit less damage than mages, but you don't think they "don't do that much damage", what would that make mages? Not overpowered enough, when they're the strongest class, in terms of damage? Archers are seconded in damage. Oh yeah, apparently the best damage isn't an advantage over anyone. I suppose fighters aren't at a disadvantage with their bad dps or clerics aren't disadvantaged when one's compared to a mage's killing capability.

"Lower" the cooldowns of mage skills? As if they need more firepower. If anything, they should be lowering the cooldown of archer skills. MM1 is your general "regular attack", but it's a skill instead of whacking, which makes sense, since the character uses magical power. If you think mm1 sucks, what would that make archer's regular bow shots, or a fighter's regular attack?

Hell, add clerics into the picture with their limited attack skills. You think they should LOWER the cooldowns of your MANY skills, when a mage can kill efficiently with mm1. Clerics get two to three skills, and you're complaining. At least you can abuse mm1 and do damage at a distance instead of tanking things and whacking them with a blunt object, no? Oh wait, that's not enough damage to satisfy you.

At the moment, my skills cooldown for 10, 12, 15, 15, and 30 seconds. The first four are single-target. The last is an AoE. That's kinda weird, since mages appear to have a fast cooling AoE, faster than archers anyways. Killing multiple monsters faster isn't an advantage I suppose, according to you.

Complain about a class when the whole thread isn't even dedicated to that subject would obviously result in some disagreements. If you would stay on topic for once, maybe people wouldn't be "attacking" you, since irrelevency seems to be the problem you like to throw around.

Really? I'm attacking you? I'm merely stating my opinion like how YOU are stating yours. You're entitled to your own opinion as I am to mine. If you think my posts are "attacks" then clearly you haven't seen much. I'm trying to show you how wrong you are, which is a discussion; not an attack. Then again, everyone views things differently, no?

Whatever, this is going to be my last post as it is WAY too OT and I'll respect your opinion of whatever you believe in.

I, as a cleric, kill a Harkan in roughly thirty seconds on my own.

A mage friend of mine kills in 15 seconds. Same level too.

Therefore, it can be assumed that the mage does roughly 2x damage per spell, as it's basically one spell 1 second vs. one hit per 1.3 seconds, including error for time inconsistencies, and factoring out critical hits.

The actual numbers are this: Me: 125, Mage: ~235, according to him.

No other class comes even close to doing that much damage in one hit.
