tanking mage

Quite the phenomenon I believe, but in the King Slime KQ I often see mages acting as tanks and doing to well. Am I missing something here? I can imagine maybe with the cleric buff having the HP to properly tank but I was wondering if there was something else. Maybe just got some lucky random EQ drops or passed down EQ from a higher level alt? just trying to wrap my head around the concept. Of course, I've only been playing for around a week, so I wouldn't be surprised if I was missing alot at this point

maybe they are full end mages with end eqs and buff and scroll, tho meyb they dun even need them with a full end build and end eqs?

more importantly, do we call them "Manks" or "Tages" ???

Extenders, charms, END equip and Endure can do wonders. Oh and the defense Menian set.

Anyone can 'tank' lower level KQs. It's just a matter of knowing how to do so... you need the brain. When it comes to KQs like Robo and above it's just raw HP and defense in the end... so pure brawn though it's better if that person has some brains too.

Yeah, I have seen a mage very successfully tank Mini Dragon before. Don't see it often, but they are out there.

MD's most damaging attacks are magical and M.Def is what Mages have an excess of.

As long as they have the base HP to take the breath, they'll tank ok. They're likely dead when other mobs spawn though unless they're mocked.

I presume it could be possible for mages to tank on pure end with green equipment boosting their endurance..
I got told that archers armour has the second highest amount of defence on it and so my mate made a full end archer which he tends to tank with for a bit of a laugh

so why not with a mage?

Quite common though there are only a few out there, and being one would cost a lot.

I think they prefer to be called Bad-Ass Mages.

maybe they have Tier 2 Defense Scrolls... The KQ level limit is 16... if I am not corrected and Tier 2 Scrolls are usually used at that level
