Ya, I broke my level 30 cross bow from +1 - +2 after around 8 tries. First few times the enchantment failed, but my bow didn't break. Then it went back to +0. Then I got it to +1. Finally, it broke to +2. Never enhancing again lol...

I got my clerics lv30 hammer and shield to +5 without stones, but for some reason I cant get my fighter lv 30 1h and shield up to even +3....

I learned the hard way how much bull shit enhancing is. I get my lvl 40 sword and think "hey, i got about 370 silver.......i wanna get this thing to +5 or 6.

6 broken swords later and the highest I ever saw was +4......on my first sword. None of the rest of them ever got past +3.

That was yesterday, I quit at +3 on the last one. Came back today and luckily got it to +4 on 1 try but im not even going to waste my money trying to get it any higher than that.

Yup. I don't enhance without the eyes/miles anymore... I once broke 3 pretty 'godly' statted boss name crossbows and well, that was it.

And for the record, your enhancement is more likely to succeed when you do it on a weapon you don't really need it. Sucks doesn't it? :P
