I can't remember the name of the game, but PiStory sounds like this old game I used to play. You'd make a character and enter a lobby, in which you'd wait for other people to join and just start whacking at eachother with the games various spells. To improve your character you'd upgrade his cards, which granted increased damage, attack speed and movement speed. It was a 2D scrolling game with "survive" in the name. You could also do dungeon instances for special items, money, or just increasing your reputation. Dungeon instances required you to kill all the designated monsters in a set amount of time, where the final boss would be either this massive golem, or a pair of them. You could cheat the system by trapping the golems, and just repeatedly whacking them with long range attacks. Man that game was wicked, too bad they shut down a long time ago. If I find out the name, I'll edit this post.
On topic, PiStory looks great, I can't wait to play, any idea on the release date? Thanks a lot for the information, I appreciate it. I also checked out Red Stone by your recommendation, mistaking the screenshot you posted for PiStory for RedStone's. Haven't played RedStone and don't plan to, the graphics aren't kawaii enough for me.
