Well the thing with that, its really stupid to do THAT to get out of the army. Honorable dischages are given if you're injured and stuff, but doing something liket hat is going to get you a dishonorable one which will be on your record yor whole life andw ill reflect on your jobs and etc in the future. Nawt gud.

I still say he did not do it to get out of the military and he did not do it because of what he has witnessed during time in Iraq - he did it because he has no conscience and is simply mean and evil.

There are many stories on animal abuse and none of those people are trying to get out of the military and most (if not all) of them have never even been to Iraq - they are just MEAN and EVIL and have no conscience!

@Omie I wasn't trying to be righteous at all. I've got friends and family in Iraq or who have been in other wars I've seen how soldiers are affected by war and also this was a discussion. I didn't try to start a argument I stated my opinion and left the thread/forums.

If you really examine the situation we are all guilty to some extent. Everyone here has squished a bug. Bugs bleed and feel pain yet we don't care when we step on annoying spider or swat a fly. We don't even feel guilty after doing so. We're all guilty of something yet we are so quick to judge another person based on his or her actions.

Teq. brings up a good point. However, I think we justify it by saying, that we consider bugs pests. We do not love them, we do not feed them and water them daily. We do not take them to the vet to get shots. We do not pet them and let them sleep in our beds. We do these things with dogs and cats. Therefore, humans have created a much stronger bond with cats and dogs. Bugs are still bugs. They crawl on your food, they leave germs as they crawl over your stuff and leave their little eggs wherever they want to, even in loaves of bread. Dogs and cats do not do this. We also have some control over dogs and cats. We can train them not to jump on our kitchen counters. We train them to sit, rollover, get down, stay. We teach them to not beg for food or jump on the table while we are eating. Bugs will not listen when you tell them, "No! Get down." They keep crawling wherever they want to, they land on you and bite you to suck your blood, and they do not want you to pet them and love on them. Cats and dogs do. So, on that aspect, we can sympathize, empathize, and all in all relate better with cute fuzzy little puppies.

That is a prejudice. Present evidence that states insects do not have emotions.

What Spirit has stated is correct. Humans find much more in common with cats and dogs because they have more in common as opposed to insects, and more lovable, if you will. That does not mean, however, that you can assert that the largest taxonomic kingdom has no emotions without conclusive evidence.

I once read that mammals are capable of feeling the largest amount of emotions. Bugs "emotions" are mostly for basic survival and defense.
