Yet another miyazaki movie. Anyone ever seen it? i just got it from netflix today. is it good?

Saw it. Liked it. Not as good as some of his others.

Well, it was the first one that he created himself, so some leeway is alowed... which other ones did you think were better, though? All i've seen so far are Totoro, Spirited Away, and Castle in the Sky

I love that miyazaki's an anti-war enviornmentalist/feminist. When you really think about it, he expresses it pretty well in his movies. and they're the kinds of themes i like.

It's a race from the Star Trek universe, the Nausicaans. They were named after NausicaÃ¤, a character from The Odyssey. The film you're talking about is also named for that character. Just a bit of visual wordplay.

When you get down to it, everybody is anti-war. But some people might say that it's necessary. I'm not really sure he's anti-war as much as he shows the complexity of war.

And like I said, Grave of the Fireflies is based on a novel and not directed by Miyazaki so it's not exactly a Miyazaki original work.

I think you would really like Grave of the Fireflies. It's not directed by Miyazaki but it's a Studio Ghibli film.
