Not exactly, it's just that people encourage the parents to have their children develop a "reading habit". Then the parents decide to buy them a book. Why not HP? It's entertaining, good for children and made for children, so they buy it and give it to their kids. Everything's fine to this point. Then the kids read it, get captivated, read the series, and then stop reading. HP is all they ever read, and think it's the best book, and now that they've actually read something, that's about enough for them. And then the parents start their praises. "My son/daughter read the full HP series, you know?" "He's got a very healthy reading habit, he ctually read the entire HP series!"
HP has become virtually the only children's book, and the only one that's ever read, and it's considered the best piece of literature ever.
And A4, yeah I meant series. And no, it was far from brilliant.
