I hear you become a POTM if you're caught in a random act of kindness. Matts_Girl, or Celetic_Princess said that she had gifted a wedding application too someone she didnt know or even played on her server, and she got it. It was probably not because of JUST that, but yeah.

If that's the case, I should the POTM then. I have giveaways in the mornings in Elderine all the time. This morning I gave away 50 stacks of T1 DEF scrolls to the nooblets. Everybody was like OMG, free? Really? I needed the space for other junk, and I hate waiting to make a sale, so I just ran around the map shouting and trading with random people.

There's no way to tell how they choose. Back when the +1 stat pets were rare-ish, lvra managed to have a crapload and would go give them away to random people.
