The only time I've ever fought another player was way back in CB1-CB2 when the GM's created guilds near the end just to let everyone fight. They started out fun but they become boring. Unless there is a huge gap between player's levels, most fights end in ties, especially those with clerics and fighters. The only way I could see it working is if they stopped people from healing and using stones during fights, but then clerics would always lose to fighters and fighters would lose to mages. It doesn't seem like there is an easy way. At this point in time, GWs are fun for the first 5 mins. If your facing a guild much higher than you, you just constantly lose and get killed. That's no fun, but its also no fun if you're just domniating the guild you're facing.
Duel's would be fun but they would end just like guild wars, that is, in a tie.
