When I'm on trips like this alone without my mother, I just speak in nothing but German, and I pretend like I can't understand too much English... That usually keeps the people away xD

So because of that fcking delay, I missed my flight into Germany...

so I ended up going onto another flight, and getting into Germany 2 hours later than what I had originally expected D:

And they lost my only piece of luggage.

We were probably in the Philly airport at the same time!!!!!!

I flew in from Madrid to Philly and landed at about 3 pm and checked my baggage after I went through customs.

Then, I found out that my flight to KC had gotten cancelled...

So the lady at the ticketing counter put us on another flight that was leaving for KC. The only thing was, this was on a different airline and THERE WAS NOOO WAY TO GET MY LUGGAGE OUT OF LIMBO. more

Bleh bleh bleh.

Long story short.

The flight for KC that was supposed to leave at 5:30 didn't leave until 9pm. We boarded at about 8:05 and then TAXIED for an hour.

omg.

sucky sucky sucky.

But at least they delivered me my luggage.

Do you do what the momma's tell you to do?

For the flight over you need to limit the liquids and gels in your carry-on bag and they have to be in a 1-qt ziploc bag. Check the airline web site for limits and restrictions. But carry in your carry-on some basic toiletries essentials and a clean shirt & clean boxers. If anything happens and your luggage is mis-directed you can feel clean in clean boxers and look clean in a clean shirt. Jeans will do okay in a have-to re-wear situation.

I also suggest packing an empty spare bag (a duffel or large back-pack) so that you have the room to pack for your return trip all the new stuff you will acquire while over there.
