Really helpful, just like to add that its called refine instead of temper in the game.

Yeah, the "tempering" is kind of annoying.

On topic, nice guide! Weapons and shields DO shine at +3 status. I've noted that shields also glow purple when they're +4. I've also seen weapons with a glowing orb revolving around it at somewhere around +5.

something to add:
no square gives a better chance of upgrading, the spinner will always strt directly opposite the stone

Nice Guide but i don't temper with my equips! i usually ask claude to upgrade it for me! lol
He upgraded my lv40 bow to +4
