I agree with Andy, however, the 3rd slot doesn't necessarily have to be a mage, any damager will do. My party from lvl 31~42 has been Fighter, Archer, and Cleric.
Fighter as a tanker, Archer as a damager, and Cleric as a healer.

Archers and mages are both Damage dealers in a sense
Mages for the heavy split second damage spike.
Archers for good DPS over time.
Both of these classes are HEAVILY underestimated. They may not show their strength alone but if u have several these, you can range spike clerics before they know what hit em.

Hey! Only because I'm not lvl 40+ doesn't mean you have to pick on me >=|!
Archers are good in partys. I know I almost always get at least one of the two status skills to stick. It's usually bleeding that does though. XD
BTW: My party is usually a cleric and me (archer) and another archer. Sometimes there is another damage dealer. Cleric casts invinc on the stronger (higher lvl) archer to tank, always worked out, thats how we went to Captain Goblins during 3xexp weekend :P
