Its the 4th Thursday in November. Its a national holiday, almost everyone celebrates it. It isn't religious and its an excuse to eat lots and lots of food.
In my family, we're eating a turkey, duh, essential, stuffing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green bean caserole, corn, deviled eggs, spinach dip and crackers, cherry pie, pumpkin pie, and chocolate pudding pie.

I mean.. if the rest of the world really wanted, they could celebrate it too. Cuz its not like we're celebrating our Independance day, just the harvesting season. Ya'lls would be on a different time of the year obviously.

Yeah, they pull up all this BS about how they're still suffering, and how "the pain still hurts us".
It was over 400 years ago. Get over it.
The Seattle school district thinks they should not recognise Thanksgiving as a joyful time, but it should be a time of mourning. There was some story on the news about them. D:<

Are white & black days Australia things...? US doesn't have either. :P
We have black history month, but no white history month. D:
There's also an Eastern-Islander (Azn) month/day, sometime in spring. (May, I think.)
It really isn't celebrated, and I bet less than 10% of US citizens know it exists. :\

My family on both sides are having dinner, but my mom's side called us first. xD They asked if we wanted to have it tomorrow or Sunday, and my dad said Thursday. The my dad's side of the family called, but they were having their dinner tomorrow too... I think we're going to my mom's side.. I'm not sure, I wasn't informed until this morning, eating leftover turkey from a party my brother's friends had. ^^ Usually, though, we attend both. What we're eating exactly, I don't know. I'm sure their will be some stuffing, cranberry sauce, a turkey, and pie or cheesecake or both involved... I prefer cheesecake over pie though. *nods* There might be potatos (in some form) or yams, but I don't know for sure. There could be other stuff. *shrugs* o-o

We're not actually doing the big family get together this year, which I'm kind of thankful for. Not that I dislike my family or anything, they're OK, (some of them anyway), but there's just too damn many people. This year where I'm going it'll just be my mom, one of my sisters and her girlfriend and me. The rest of the clan will just be doing their own things with their families.
Normal stuff to eat I guess, turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, yams, grean beans, deviled eggs, etc.. We usually have various platters of of raw veggies and pickled things too, black and green olives, pickles, coctail onions and whatnot. I think all we're doiing for dessert this year is pumpkin pie. Which is fine by me since that's just about the only dessert I actually like.
