I watched it! And in the process of rewatching it! I really liked it. The art, the music, the characters, the plot. It all flowed soooooo well. I heard it was really sad but it wasn't as sad as I thought it would be. I wouldn't call it a tear-jerker but definitely sad. Shed a few tears. Definitely a much watch.

yeah I was so close to opening it back up and rewatching the whole thing. but I didn't.

You wouldn't call that anime a tear-jerker?! There were quite a few moments that made me except sometimes it was followed by a scene that I thought was too corny/cheesy.

Except I think that's just me not being in the whole anime phase right now. I couldn't get used to the squeaky japanese voice of Menma.

I wish they didn't do the whole shouting thing in the very last scene though. I thought that was a bit weird!

but the bit where Jinta couldn't see Menma when he got to the secret base was sOOOOOOOOOOO SAD!!!

you know city hunter is like a shadow looming over my head now. it's like when I have a task I need to do at work but I haven't done it yet because I've been procrastinating from that task. lulz

I don't know why people didn't like the screaming in the last episode. I liked itxD. I thought it fit the moment well. I thought Poppo's story was really sad about how he just say Menma's lifeless body drift away. I wish they'd show her actually dying thoughG__G. I don't understand how she died, she fell and that kill her? I think it showed where she died in that one part where anaru almost fell but it wasn't THAT steep. I guess if she hit herself on a bunch of the rocks it'd kill her.

LMAO your post made me laugh. you sounded so innocent when you said Marley and Me made you cry and you liked the shouting bit (maybe you like it cos you're still little) and then you say something like "oh she killed herself by hitting a bunch of rocks" which completely killed your post. LMAO.

anyway yeah I thought she slipped and drowned because of the anaru thing and also the incident where she saw that carp. she was a kid back then so I guess it wasn't too hard to die like that. I wish they showed how she died too. I was waiting for it to show in the last two eps or something cos I thought it'd piece everything together, but it didn't.

I did wish they developed poppo's story more though . but the main problem I had with the plot was that they started so many love triangles when they were only kids. but then again it's an anime so I can't expect it to be too realistic I guess. LOL. heck it's not even love triangle.. it's like a love PENTAGON!!!!!!!

but I like Jinta's character.

I'M LITTLE?!? I'm sure i'm bigger than you. Maybe you've lost your youth so you cant appreciate the screaming in the show. And yeah! Pretty much everybody fell "in love" at such a young age and drags it on for the rest of their life, well maybe. Hopefully they get over her. I liked all the characters, I thought they developed the characters really good in such a short time. I also can't get over the art, it's soo good. Also why were their two hairpins? Did he give one to that girl? And the one he had was the one he threw after menma rejected him. But he gave it to menma because he liked her and he didn't like tsurio. /confused

They did develop the characters well but I wished they spent more time on poppo!! and yeah I was wondering about the hair clip too. I assumed that tsuroko (was that her name?) picked up the one that was thrown onto the ground cos it was all dirty and stuff, and I thought the guy just bought another one. did he use it when he dressed up as menma?

he was really creepy though when he was hugging that wig in one of the last few episodes @_@ LOL

Edit: LOL I'm watching the 1st ep again....... I do really like the art too though. Have you seen byousoku 5cm? the first episode kind of reminded me of that anime/movie. it had got even prettier art!!
