It's not scamming until it's done in real life.
I had two dollars (This is Australian currency, it's a gold coin), and it was on the day of a festival or something. Some kid walks up to me and says "hey i'll give you my two dollars for your two dollars." I didn't see any harm in trading, so I traded with him. At the time, I didn't know that two cent pieces looked exactly the same as two dollars...
