actually in my case, ive found it better to stand pretty much in the AoE range of whoever you are partying with. If your standing far away and suddenly a bunch of mobs come running after you, it gonna be a wild goose chase. If you are standing in the AoE range, fighters can easily mock the mobs back, mages can easily magic burst (or w/e) the mobs back, and archers can of course mist.
(this is of course is in the thought that you are partying with lvl51+ people XD )
