I'll recommend an extraction program,
ALZip from
ALTools.
Free, and can perform decompression/extraction from many types of archives including ZIP, RAR, ACE, ARC, LHA, LZH, TAR, GZ, TGZ, CAB, JAR, 7Z. It does compression too, but won't compress into RAR containers though. (Also opens spanned RAR archives~) This thing comes also with context menu integration in Explorer which can be modified to your liking
Oh, and it displays CRC of contained files.
