KQ: Signs you're screwed.
Well, we've all been in those KQ's destined for doom. But what triggers that intuition? What makes you say "it's over" before it all begins? Feel free to leave your own comments (you'll be credited of course), here are some of mine:
Quote:
|
- 13/14 of the other people are screaming for a party as soon as you start.
- 13/14 of the other people are asking how to get to Roumen.
- 3/5 of the other people are wondering where everyone else is.
- Some people decide it's a good opportunity to sell their wares.
- There are no clerics.
- There are no tanks.
- The tanks you do have, have no balls.
- About half the people strongly believe "WE'RE SCREWED" regardless of how you convince them.
- KQ associates attempt to kill everything they see, aka "the lawnmower effect" because they're so used to the King Slime quest (applicable for Mara Pirates and Gold Hill)
- You see more then eight people with spanish letters in their name on the participation list
- You only see your name on the participation list.
- Chinhchinh's name is on the participation list. (chinhchinh's BO tends to make everyone leave, proof here: http://www.fiestafan.com/forums/showthread.php?t=616 )
|
Other indications people have suggested:
Quote:
|
- "When [you] see people walking on the cursed 'treadmill of eternity.'" (Meaning that [you're] in for a disconnection). [Ash]
- People complain for heals because they're not carrying pots. "Why?! Why?!?! WHY??!" [Blaaaaaaaah]
- Cleric amazingly dies, don't ask how it happens. Just know someone failed. [Blaaaaaaaah]
- No one mines (Gold hill) [rokaraged]. Sorry roks, picked the best out of the seven. The others didn't quite seem to fit .__.
- You look over everybody and you're blinded by the excessive purple (Too many mages .__.) [Whudafux]
- Those damned clergymen aren't following their religious order properly (Clerics refuse to heal)[Whudafux]
- 5 seconds after starting, the hidden key is discovered. 5 seconds later the gate's open. 5 seconds later you're in Elderine. "people open the doors too soon before everyone is ready" [KingPotBingSoo]
- People abandon the KQ in real life >__> [Blaaaaaaaah]
- "menu u bad tnak u go 1st n tank everyfink." Someone gives you this advice/insult/statement (wouldn't have a clue what it really is). [chinhchinh]
- Everyone thinks they're Spartans. "one of the few clerics runs straight out to him and gets pwned" [Destrus]
|
Anyway, if your KQ falls under any of these categories, I suggest you die ASAP to save yourself from wasting a valuable twenty minutes.
Hmm, it seems people come to this post to rant about their most recent KQ failings. In light of this I've decided to make another post dedicated to this. Vent your anger out on that person that ruined your KQ by getting them on my banlist.

When I see tons of people falling over dead, that's my usual signal that it's over. The other one is when I see people walking on the cursed 'treadmill of eternity' (Meaning that I'm in for a disconnection).
@Dynamics: I'm aware of the Edit button. Perhaps I should use it next time since edited posts are actually read here unlike some other places. *Cough*
Oh that's right, while I was once looking for a KQ, there was someone asking me how to make parties/ use skills/ join the KQ. I think the third one on its own tells you everything you need to know...

You only see your name on the participation list.

There was actually one time where this happened to me, but it turns out that everyone else got in while I was lagging. Phew.

Forgot to add: Not that I've ever been in this situation, but if someone is asking 'Ey, how you use skill?' and that person is a cleric AND there are only two clerics, you might just want to consider pulling that Internet wire out before you feel the urge to pull out your hair.

You were in my KQ yesterday and thanks to my UBER full SPR Fighter's tanking ability, we beat it.
What I meant was that I tried solo-ing a KQ before, you can find it somewhere in the screenshots section.

When you see more than one cleric dying. Anyone BUT clerics can die. I mean, if they don't have enough people to help the cleric kill the mobs or the cleric couldn't heal fast enough, it's usually a bad sign. Whenever I die in a KQ, I don't usually succeed in it. D'x

Yeah. I tried supporting for the Mara Pirate KQ on my cleric but it was hard as hell to keep my party healed up. Even with tons of points on cooldown for my heal, it wouldn't have been fast enough if they didn't have stones and pots. Not to mention the boss killed our tank in one hit...lousy tank...
