They're people too, yes, but they're also leaders. Totally dropping the event and leaving due to getting irritated really isn't acceptable. Penalizing everyone because of a handful would result in that happening every single time a GM tries to do ANYTHING in public...
Not sure of any kind of solution to this problem, but there are better ways of dealing with it. Either that or whip out the ban mallet and start swinging! XD

Also quoted for truth. Sooner or later, the GMs are going to have to ban some of the completely intolerable people anyway.
I suppose one way to get around this is to suspend people who keep spamming the GMs even though they don't have the right item. Perhaps, this will send them the message that the GMs won't tolerate such nonsense.
