From my experience, around level 25-26 a pure INT mage really became hard for me because I died very very quick. Remade my made and did 25 spr(remember you get this by level 20), I have much more sp, crit at least 1-2 times each monster, and using aim scroll I don't miss much.
Well not when you're fighting mobs around your level. But when you fight those who are dark red you'll miss a lot even with a power scroll and a Staff. Or at least, thats what I noticed.
