My mouse and keyboard keeps on freezing

My mouse and keyboard keeps on freezing often. The computer is still running but my mouse and keyboard wont. Usually it's the mouse first then the keyboad after. I keep on having to unplug the usb's wait a while, then plug them in again. I've already defragemented my computer, fixed all the issues my computer had with tuneup utilities, but it's still occurring. How to fix it?

Reinstalling mouse/keyboard drivers usually works.

Find out which company made your keyboard/mouse (look on the bottom/manuals), find out their model names and head to the company's website and search there for driver downloads.

Keyboard and Mouse drivers are plug and play devices they don't have specific drivers. Mouse and Keyboard can run from 2 different types of ports either a USB port or a PS2 port (If you look at the back of your computer there will be 2 circle looking ports one green and the other purple) Those are the PS2 ports. Generally its better to go with PS2 mouse and keyboards I find they are more compatible over USB ones because some motherboards/BIOS have issues with these.

Your problem may be a BIOS related problem you may need to meddle around with the plug and play settings in bios and or see if there is a firmware update for your BIOS and see if you can update it.

If this isnt a BIOS related issue your best bet is to probably backup your files and reformat the hard drive because honestly a large number of things could be causing that to happen.

EDIT: Actually do you remember when this first started happening because its probably just something conflicting with the plug and play devices on your computer Im 99% sure of it.

Well the obvious thing to do now is to open the computer up just remove the case and while the computer is running pinpoint where the noise is coming from. If you find out whats causing the noise take a picture of whats causing it if you dont know what the part in the computer actually is so I can see whats happening.
