My sanity...
I can feel it slipping away.
I'm watching Carrie Underwood's Allstar Holiday Special. I feel like I'm in some sort of weird time loop. Even the concept of a star-studded holiday variety show is mind-numbing in this day and age...
They've hit every cliche in the book. This almost feels like a satire. Tons of costume changes, bad acting in poorly written skits (one of which is recurring), a truly bizarre tribute to 60s girl bands with Underwood, Kristen Chenowith, and Christina Applegate, a deep-voiced announcer doing the "When We Return..." bumpers, overly choreographed dance routines. There's even a "magic of TV" satellite duet. It's like the ghost of bad TV past has risen and is now a programming director for Fox...
My brain is trying to shut down because it can't comprehend a reality in which something like this would be made for a modern audience.
