Yes, but what we are trying to say is that this is not the thread for it. I wanted this thread to be about those that lost their lives, not a discussion about whether or not we should.

If you do not want to remember then dont. But, please do not ruin a perfectly sweet and thought ful thread by posting crap in it.

There is a thread in Mature discussions about who brought the towers down and all that. That would be a better place for your comments.

Yes everyone has a right to their opinions and a right to voice their thoughts. But, sometimes, someplaces are not the right places to do it.

I guess just be thankful that at least you are alive to express those opinions and thoughts. EVERYONE that died that day cannot.

Didn't know anyone personally, but could empathise through hearing personal stories. Particularly touching is what manzcar wrote, I can't imagine what it'd be like to suddenly realise it's your last moments and you've got a family at home waiting for you.

I think these people deserve a few moments at least.

I was going to stay out of this because to me it doesn't matter//effect me.

I have to agree though with Spirit.

To me it doesn't mean anything, but I can still think of all the people who lost someone, and if they were to talk to me about it, I could never just tell them that it doesn't need something.

I'm not going to make something special about it, but if someone else was effected by it, and they want to, then by all means, I'll let them at it.~

I think in all the turmoil that my tiny little link got lost.

Go to the memorial and sort by age. I particularly feel for those kids on the planes headed out to a great adventure, probably their first flight, and they will never know what what it's like to hang out with friends around the pool on a summer afternoon talking about hte newest song or videos. They never get to play an MMO. They can't text their friends to share the excitement of the new CD they got and the poster of the really hot artist that came free in the package. They just don't.

A life lost is great loss, to their family, friends and even colleagues. I know ignorance is bliss but really, Luna, please be a bit more considerate. The pain does not arise when you talk about it, but only when you take it into yourself as if it is real. Think, right now, of what and/or whom you fear of losing the most and one day, they just disappear into darkness. Perhaps that will help you understand what this thread is about.

I feel for those who never saw their loved ones again.

I should say some more but they would rather be insulting and will taint this thread with unnecessary flames.

Let's think about the victims and their families. And perhaps, think about the living ones who are suffering, as well.

Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it, Luna. 9/11 is just another date on the calendar for us to take a moment, pause, and think of others, much like Memorial Day or Veterans Day. It is a solemn occasion of thought and reflection, both of those that died and of the actions our country took following the event. As Jefferson said, "The price of freedom is eternal vigilance."
