As nice as it is for the GMs to want to be "one of the guys" and be friendly with the players, is it can easily cause problems. GMs are technically customer service/event runners. The problem with GMs becoming too chummy with the players is you start to see them playing favourites, and GMs may slip players they like little gifts, or help them out somehow that is unfair to other players.
Although it is Closed beta and they can screw around as much as they want without having to worry about it, I hope they act a little more professional when Open beta hits. Randomly spawning millions of monsters in town and mass murdering players causing them to lose a bunch of exp they just earned, is NOT a good way to keep players. Yes, its enjoyable to the higher level players who have established their characters and want random challenges, but thats playing favourites, and when this game is launched, they will want as many players to stick around as they can, because servers aren't free, they need money.
I do hope there is still random events but I hope they're atleast a little planned instead of dropping 40 king slimes in Roumen, and also rewarding the server with tons of free items is really messing with the economy, but like I said, its still Closed beta, so I just hope it stays a closed beta thing. Bias in MMOs really blows, and even though in Flyff the newer GMs do just about jack, atleast theres no bias. I know a few people who got free CWs, and cash shop items from the older Flyff GMs because they got chummy with them. Exactly why they aren't working there anymore.
