Any particular reason the one in the post is better quality than the one in sig?

The version I have in my sig only looks like that because I blurred it a bit after I tried to make it my new sig. This site has a funny way of making the graphic look like a .TIF or something (loss of qual.). The one in the post is the original, without any overlays or such, since imageshack can preserve just about ANY graphic's qualities!
