about skill damage calculations

One thing i noticed is that currently, my bash (cleric's attacking skill) says "111-130 additional damage". however, i deal about 80 damage without bash and 115-125 damage with bash on silver slimes. even if i was doing 80 damage shouldnt 80+111=191 at the very least, or is there a different formulae? i suspect it should be more like "111% to 130% additional damage" or something like that after factoring in defence, but im unsure how defence is calculated in the first place... any thoughts on this?

Well im not sure all the formulas in this game yet, so dont quote me on anything. but that 80 is additional damage included.

here is my knowledge of damage in rpg games

Weapon Damage = WD
Additional Damage= AD
Defense = DEF
Total Damage= TD
so with that

WD + AD - DEF = TD

now the formulas is where it gets tricky, sometimes defense is worth double, sometimes half. it depends on what the game makers find to be fair for all...

so 50 WD + 100 AD - 75 DEF = 75 TD

now if you want to REALLY know what damage you can do, go try hitting lvl 1 creatures. that should give you the minimum DEF you can find, and thus get your highest TD

EDIT: also add bash in there, your right about the bash, thing just add that in like so WD+AD+BASH-DEF=TD
as for bash might be magical (does it use SP?) and it might be its OWN little attack, something like this...
Normal attack = WD+AD-DEF=TD
BASH Attack = WD+BASH-DEF=TD

Theres much more to put down for damage calculation
The Cleric's base strength (includes str rings)
and also his bonus stat strength. (which receives no affect from defense allegedly )


They apparently is a different formula though as NotMyWay pointed out... that has not been completely figured yet

Easy answer. The damage is reduced by the defence in an non linear way. 2 Proofs i have seen in these forum so far:
1.) Damage multiplication if the defence is far below damage. "lvl 40 people crit for 10k+ on lvl 1 slimes"
2.) negative Damage Multiplication if the defence is far beyond the damage. Someone in these forum wrote that he made lesser damage then his damage bonus from str was, the diff was -2.

In pseudo c, it should look about like that:
Damage*= (Attacker.Attack/Defender.Defence)+-*/UnknownFaktors;

But what i know is that there is Pre- and Post- Defence damage.

a good example for predefence would be: Skills
a good example for postdefence would be: str bonus.

yeah under my stats it says M dmg ...420-550 or something like
that yet i only hit between 140-250 normally and 500s with crits

i didnt read everything here... coz all the numbers are all hypotheically to me and i dont hv the energy in the braincell to process it all XD

but i just want to throw in some extra knowledge about dmg...

The addictional dmg from a license (say..30% dmg) does not affect bash...

e.g. u do 100dmg base dmg, license give u extra 30% dmg so u do 130 dmg

If bash does 200 dmg, then it's gonna do 200 dmg whether or not you u've got license...
