Question For Manga Readers

Well i'm starting to read manga online again, and the question i have is, when you are reading multiple ongoing manga series, how do you guys know when theres a new chapter. Is there like a reminder that can be sent to your email or something, or do you guys just manually check it?

If you use MangaFox they have the Bookmark option either on the main page for the manga or if you are in the middle of a page you can bookmark that too.

And when something new comes up, you can go to the Bookmark tab at the top and it'll show when it has last been updated.

Since I've done scanlating for many series I know how this works. Friday are the days most of the series will get updated. Friday the new chapters come out in Japan,China, and other Asian countries....get someone to scan them up. Us translators translate them then get scanlator to replace the text. For a meduim qulity to low qulity it takes maybe 4-5hour after the new chapter is released.

Edit: This is for the "popular" series. If you read less "popular" it might take more to get scanlated.

you've done scanlation before ;O
what mangas did you do?
and so like, you have to know someone who lives in japan or other asian countires to get the scans?

I've worked on Naruto,Fairy Tail,D.Gray-Man,xxxHolic,and other minor series that I only did like a chapter or too. I did japanese to english for a while, but now im currently doing spanish to english.

Ya there are "sources" that release scans to the public every friday or when it comes out. Of course some arent of the best quality so your scanlator has to clean it (i.e. dust specs cutting off). I usually work on minor series casue the major ones were just too fast pace for me....too demanding to finish before the other scanlating groups get their work out.
