Formula.
Is there some sort of a formula that connects exp amount needed to level up to your current level? Anyone know what it is?

Sure.
If you go to the table of experience located in the wiki and set X as your level and Y as the total experience, you should be able to find a formula for the exponential curve.

If no one's done it by the time I get home (I'm out of town again), I'll plug it into my calculator and get back to you guys. :3

The reason you don't see a formula on that page is because when I tried, I found that the curve is not strictly exponential. There is no single formula that can encompass the range of values from levels 1 through 79. As such, a formula is also useless at extrapolating the data, hence I wouldn't bother with it.

Where shall we wander?

Where was talk of the curve being exponential up until a level where it tapered off.
Like to know that cutoff, and when the formulas pre- and pro- it.

Impossible. The values that my graphing calculator gives me are values that are up too huge and too inaccurate when rounded.

Is it possible for you to post the point-form graph here somehow?

If you look carefully, after Lv 68 the 'curve' isn't a curve anymore - it's linear.
To get a trendline that will fit, you need to plot a few sets of points. It seems somebody fudged the growth constant every few levels to make the actual EXP required more practical, and finally got tired of it all just before 70 and decided to make it linear instead.
I am curious as to why anyone would want an equation. It won't even extrapolate. Why in the world bother button pressing on a calculator when you can read the values off a table?

I just wanted to see if the values were random or not. I guess they were not.
