The FONA Weekly: June 26, 2013 - Forces Unite!

Greetings, Isyans!

Let’s see what the GMs have been up to this week...

It was an unbearably hot and humid day in Isya, and the GMs were all at Headquarters trying to beat the heat. Inside the HQ walls, Kobal was sheepishly trying to fix the long-broken air conditioning unit while mumbling about the “awful heat” and how he'll "be a hero if this gets fixed." Swoos was in his room, lying on wire-screen mesh, sweating into numerous bottles with funnels sticking out of them. When asked what he was doing, he replied “getting ingredients for a potion,” and when asked what kind of potion needs sweat, he replied, “don’t worry about it.”

In the backyard, Velfarre was trying to keep an inflatable pool filled with water. The heat made the water uncomfortably hot, and he needed to keep refilling it as the liquid evaporated. Lightburb tried to head down to the nearest pond to cool off, but heat exhaustion and sunburn almost caused her body to collapse. She had to turn back and resorted to covering herself with aloe vera and laying on the couch to watch Kobal’s efforts.

Finally fed up with his futile attempts, Velfarre raised his fist to the sun and shouted, “Why must you torture us with your life-giving warmth?! You’re the worst star ever!!!” Suddenly it hit him: the *perfect* way to cool off. He rushed into HQ and dug around in the closet until he found them - Snowboard Speeders! The other GMs slowly realized what Velfarre’s idea was and all grabbed one as well. Soon, everyone was racing around the hot Isyan day in their own personal snowstorm provided by the speeders strapped to their feet.

We plan to begin tonight's maintenance at 10pm PDT (26-Jun). We expect it to last 3 hours, but we'll post an update if it takes any more time.

Here are the full notes for this week's maintenance:

Changes:

- DEVILDOM FORTRESS available for levels 105-115, includes:

10 new Fortress quests

Brand NEW level 114 "Lava" weapons

Brand NEW level 115 "Flaming Beast" armor sets - complete with "on fire" aura!

Massive new boss monster, the Lava Avanas

Find the entrance in Swamp of Dawn!

NOTE: This dungeon is VERY difficult, so you'll want to bring in more people. Try out the... *drumroll*

- EXPEDITION SYSTEM!

Designed as a companion system to the Devildom Fortress instance dungeon, this raid feature allows you to bring 20 (yes, TWENTY) people into the Fortress. Experience an epic, large-scale assault on the final Devildom stronghold! If you've ever wanted to bring more guildies with you into a dungeon, now is your chance. Recruit new and old friends alike into one massive group and show the Lava Avanas who's boss! Do you have the teamwork it will take to make it to the end??

NOTE You will not be able to enter other dungeons designed for parties of 5 when in an expedition. You must disband and enter as a regular party for those dungeons.

CALLING ALL 105+ PLAYERS: Meet in Uruga! This will be the official recruitment ground for Devildom Expeditions. Come see us after maintenance!!

How to use the Expedition System:

1. Create a party (2+) with your friends.

2. Open the Expedition menu. ("r" key -or- flag icon in top right)

3. Hit the "Create" button. Players in your party will automatically be added to the expedition.

4. Invite more players to the expedition with "Invite" (or right-click as usual). If the leader appoints "vice leaders," the vice leaders can also invite players to the expedition.

5. Arrange players in groups 1-4 according to your preference. Both level and class are displayed to inform decisions. Click names to move them around the menu.

6. The leader can set the following loot distribution rules: Free Allocation (free-for-all), Sequential Allocation (alternating between players), Loot Master, Roll Dice. NOTE: When using "Roll Dice," at least 2 players must be near each other to initiate item pickup. Every player within range will then have the option to roll or pass. Among the players who roll, whoever rolls the highest number will get the item. If a player runs off on their own, they will not be able to pick up any items. Work together!

7. The loot distribution rules will only apply to one type of item/grade at a time. These are: Regular, Named, Rare/Set, and Unique.

8. Leaders and vice leaders can send a notice to the entire expidition with the following chat prompt: /n [message]. These messages will only display in "Normal" chat.

Eglack (hard) = 400-500% boost for lvl 110 set items

Misc:

- Added a popup window when enhancing items. Please use this moment to double-check that you aren't missing any intended premium stones, especially Red Eyes!(We hope to refine this feature more in the future.)

- Added premium item data.

- Updated server select image.

Bugs & Error Fixes:

- Oukalidin items (Lvl 65 Trickster Set) now drop from the Iyzel's Crystal Boxes, in addition to the other level 65 set items.

- Tradable Charms of Might (50%) can no longer stack with regular Charms of Might (50%). They will now behave in the same manner as a regular version.

- Fixed an issue in which players who finished the level 100 job change could not change jobs due to lacking the necessary inventory space.

- Fixed a graphical issue in which the Devildom Barracks power machine disappeared from view at a certain distance.

- Removing all 1-Day Honeying Snowboard Speeders from inventories due to a bug. We hope you used the week warning to use it up!

KNOWN ISSUES:

- There are some typos remaining in the new "Flaming Beast" armor sets. We plan to fix these in a future patch. They do not affect functionality in any way.

- The error message when an expedition tries to enter a dungeon other than Devildom Fortress is slightly confusing. Even though you are in parties, you will not be enter while part of an expedition.

We'll see you after maintenance!
