Makes lots of sense actually.


If we assume that people (on the internet and in general) prefer to address others of familiarity in abbreviated forms of their full names in 5-letters and less.


Belaslav=Bela
Ivramire=Ivra
Blaaaaaaaahs=Blahs
Hessah=Hess


Monochrome=Mono


Since mono is already established in popular culture as an informal designation for an infectious disease, they thus change one letter and voila, "mono" = "momo"


And it's Japanese!!!
