Cleaning computer tower

how do you guys clean out the dust that gather in your computer tower?

I tried to vacuum mine, but doesn't work too well as the vacuum is too big, I end up using cotton thingies to just get out the obvious dirt that gather in my graphics card fan, and motherboard fan..

Something that blows air out, or u just wipe what you can and blow with your mouth LOL

if you used compressed air, do you end up with dust balls floating all around the room?

Depends how much dust is in your machine, I would think so though .. and just vacum after.

Hmm, not really. It just sort of blows it out and on to the desk. Unless you use a full-on compressor like I do. Then it just sort of obliterates it.

oh ok.. do you leave ur tower up right when u blow it out?

You can always go on the balcony and do the whole thing outside.

not quite a viable option to me, as going from my room to the balcony (with a heavy tower) is about the longest walk you can do within the house.. xD

My dad has an air compressor its the best way possible to clean out the dust from your computer although major drawback its extremely noisy. The amount of dust that comes out is going to depend on the type of computer tower you have and the last time you cleaned it out. If its really dusty take your computer outside and clean it out there.

My computer tower requires a clean out every 3 months however for others it may be 6+ months depending on how many fans are in your computer and how large the fans are.

But saying all this air compressor isnt always available to everyone or rather not many people would actually have one. Using your mouth to blow the dust out is an alternative but it will take longer to clean out. (I may have to do that when I cant get my dad to come down with his air compressor)
