9/11
Okay, first let me say, whether you agree, disagree, think it was an inside job, do not care, was not affected, or whatever, the fact is on this day 7 years ago, thousands of people lost their lives. Mothers, daughters, fathers, sons, brothers sisters, grandmothers, grandfathers, grandchildren, no longer walk this earth, breath the air, experience the highs and lows of lives. A Lot of lives were cut short because someone somewhere decided that violence in a mass quantity was the answer.
So, please do not think about the reasons behind it or what caused it. Just please just take a few minutes to think about all those innocent people, firemen, police officers, everyday people going about their everyday lives that were killed on 09/11/01. If you pray, say a little prayer for the family members of the lost ones that are still mourning today. If you do not pray, then simply offer them a few spare thoughts as you go about your daily routine.

I had several business associates in tower 1 that lost their lives. I don't care who did it or why. I just hate that it happened at all.
One of them was on the phone to his best friend that worked with me at the time and his last words were "I'm not making it out of here... tell my wife and daughter that I love them".
Just the thought of that day makes me want to cry.

Kind of like dominos?
Please try to keep your beliefs and views on who was behind it out of this thread.
This is about the people who died... the innocent people.
I remember that day really well. It was kind of a slap of reality for my naive 12 year old self. No matter who did it, its still unfair and none of the punishments anyone could ever think of could ever be good enough.
My brothers Navy ship was the first military troop to be sent out to the middle East after 9/11. They were on their way home from a tour of the Mediterranean.

I was on my way to work and my husband called to tell me a plane just hit the 1st. tower. At first, I thought it was a horrific accident, then I heard him say “oh shi! No!†He was watching the news when the second plane hit.
My first thought once I realized it was not an accident was that I just wanted to go get my kids and go back home to my husband. I was numb the whole day as the stories kept flooding in about how people were jumping from the building just so that they did not burn to death, then hearing about the Pentagon, and the other plane that went down in the field, then when the buildings started collapsing, I could not imagine being on one of the upper floors and knowing that I was going to die and having to decide to wait until the fire consumed me, the building collapsed, or jump. It will be a day that I will remember forever. It was so beautiful outside, sunny and pretty, and yet I stayed cold all day long.
And yes, I would like to keep views out of this thread if at all possible and let it be about the people that died that day. It does not matter who or what did it, caused it, or whatever. The fact still remains that thousands of people got up that day, got ready for work, and left their loved ones to never be able to return home to them.
We get up everyday, get to still breath, talk, play games, see our loved ones, simply Live, and they never will.

I was at school, in English, in the 7th grade. A teacher came into my class and told my teacher to turn on the TV. The news station was really quiet, like we were just observing, and of course they didn't know much, so all we thought we were watching was a building on fire. So far at that point, only one plane had gone in. So we were all like "o.O hm.. why are we watching this? So what, a building is on fire.", then.. another plane went in, and then we were all like "O_O Oh shi-!", then we realized it wasn't some accident, like a plane flying too low. A lot of the parents came and picked up their kids. Our principal came onto the intercom, bawling, and said if our parents wanted to take us home over this, we were excused.

I was in Taiwan when it happened
I had just moved there a month ago, a couple months actually after the big earthquake (5-21 or something)
I remember seeing it on tv and watching the tower come down.
Talked to my friends back in the states about it.
Let us not only remember those who died but also those who helped out after the disaster
I've heard many suffered psychological traumas afterwards and because of all the ash and dust many developed lung problems also. I believe many were volunteers who went down to ground-zero to help.
I got one of those Beanie Babies that honors the police, hospital, firefighters, and there's one more that I don't remember which it was
I got Sarge, a german shepherd, which honors the police who were there that day.

Bleh ~
I know it was a terrible day, But its getting kind of out of hand. "9/11. never forget". Well, we have to move on and prepare for the future. People die in the harshest ways and for the moment, we feel affection and sorrow, but eventually we have to keep our minds on a future attack.
I know this also sounds kind of silly, but Other countries were brutality attacked with radiated weaponry and Genocide.
* Africa is going through Genocide right now
* War in the middle east, those civilians have to stand between the crossfire.
And don't forget this, how America use those Atomic Bombs on Japan, that is a Weapon of Mass Destruction!!
What I'm trying to say out of all of this is that war only brings pain in the end, regardless of nation, race, or religion. War is not "for the good of mankind", its just some excuse for fighting, violence kills people, war kills, nobody wins in the end just as much as they had in the beginning. There is a difference between "Protecting a country" and "fighting for it". In the end, there should be no missiles and Kalashnikovs fired at each other.
Offended you may be, thats what I think about all this. 9/11, to me, is not a day when you remembered those who died that dark day, not anymore... its just another result of War and conflict.
nobody wins but God....
