I don't know how correct this is since I haven't played the English version so I'm not sure if it is up to date with the Taiwan server I played on before.
After reading the wikipedia article it seems that it has come quite a bit from the last time I looked into the English server (back then it only offered 4 classes)
Races
There are 4 races to choose from
Humans-humans are the balanced characters in the game. Average stats in all areas.
Shuras- A beast race (dragon like for males, fox for females) focuses on strength. Best described as aggressive and with great physical prowess
Slyphs- Spirit-like creatures that float around and are specialized in wisdom and intelligence but however lacking in strength.
Sprite- little child-like characters that are focuses on agility and dexterity.
When the game was first announced it was said that there was a difference between the classes however it does not seem to be significant so mainly people just play as whichever character that they would like.
It was also said that the proportions of your character also influences your gameplay. Such as, the size of your arms or legs may give you more or less strength; and the having a bigger rack may gain you discounts in npc shops but in turn you may have lower int stat points. It is unsure if this function has been actually implemented.
Classes
Commoner the class everyone start off in, the most common. Uses commoner weapons (basic sword, axe, pole, bow)
Blademaster focuses on high attack power with low defense. Uses a giant knife.
Mercenaries have very high defense and can use heavy armor and a wide variety of weapons. Uses shield and halbard.
Swordsmen can add elemental properties to their attacks and the attacks of their teammates. They can halt opponents and use many 'area of effect' attacks. Uses swords.
Martial Artist has moderate defense and high attack and HP. Uses gloves or poles.
Bandit have high agility and so can attack quickly and dodge many attacks, as well as possessing skills to steal items, gold, and recipes from monsters. Uses knives; also has skills which uses kunai and smoke bombs.
Hunter also has high attack speed and dodge rate and uses a bow to attack from a distance. Uses bow and arrows.
Exorcist use powerful area of effect (AOE) attack spells that take time to cast, and spend scrolls to do so. Uses staff and spell scrolls.
Onmyouji do not have as powerful spells, but they can be cast more quickly and consume less MP. They are also stronger physically and cannot cast AOE spells until higher levels. Uses staff.
Mushishi consume voodoo bugs to cause status effects and reduce the stats of their target. Uses staff; some spells require bugs.
Bard can buff other classes but cannot move while playing songs. Uses instruments.
Dancers, similarly, cannot move while dancing but focus on offensive and status-inducing skills. Uses fan.
Doctors can cast some buffs and have healing and resurrect skills and consume frogs to use some of their skills. Uses needle; some spells require frogs.
Merchants consume money and IOU's to use skills and receive trading and stall benefits. Uses abacus; some spells require money and IOU.
The interesting part about this game is that as long as you pass the test for the class you can play that class. Meaning you can play ALL THE CLASSES. Also when you pick your class you are allowed to bring over 2 attack concentrations and 2 passive concentrations of another class to add on to your own class's concentration. Therefore it is recommended to first have played a mercenary to lv40, exorcist to lv40, and doctor to lv60 to get the passives equip shield and heavy armor from mercenary (best defense armor thus protects you well), passive equip robe from exorcist (robes have the best magic defense which will be beneficial in lv60+), and passive equip needle (so you can use healer skills) and attack concentration of healers so you can buff and heal.
It is awesome that you can play and try out so many classes except for those 3 classes itself it can take awhile.
Pets
There are 5 different pets each with their own unique attribute and each have 3 evolution stages with the 3rd evolution stage being mountable
Wood Cactus - physical, average attack power, high attack speed (unmountable pet)(this pet was generally unwanted because many think that it is ugly however once the final evolution was released this pet became popular due to it being extremely sexy)
Gold Bear - physical, high defense
Earth Boar - physical, high physical attack
Fire Cat - magic, high magic attack
Water Dragon - magic, magic def
*special*Love Imp - magic, has healing abilities. This is a rare pet and evolves into a hot sizzling lady. (unmountable pet)
*note: wood, gold, fire, and water are the elements of the pet, not what they look like.
Pets are hatched from eggs. There is a quest to get a free gold bear pet egg. Otherwise pet coins will have to be purchased through their CashShop and basically a lottery type where it's chance as to what you get.
_____________
This was a fun game. Awesome classes, long gameplay, lots of quests, guild quests, fun events, fun mobs, being able to afk when gathering, etc...
I however had to stop playing it due to having to change my computer to a Chinese os so that the text loaded correctly in the game and that caused me to get blue screened a lot
erm...this will probably get longer and more detailed when I have more time for now it is 12:34pm and I have to get to bed o.o
