I don't see the point in material composition.
It just seems like your losing money o.O
Anyone wanna explain material composition to me?

You usually use it to make high level materials by combining low level ones.

However, since you level, the tiers increase as well, its pretty much useless.

Material decomposition, on the other hand, is more useful. You can use the materials you gather and decompose them into lower tier-ed materials for other production skills such as stone, potion or scroll production.

I think the only thing I've found useful about Material Composition (so far) is that it makes finding HQ Copper Ore less of a pain since you can just turn 8 LQ Copper Ore into 1 HQ. So... making Lixes [2] isn't such a hassal trying to mine for HQ Copper Ore.

One use of material composition is to aid in leveling material decomposition by recycling materials.

For instance, after decomposing several copper ores into low quality ones, u could use material composition to compose the low quality back into normal quality and decompose again. Of course u will lose money in the process, but it is a faster way to raise ur decomposition skill since u wont need so many materials. Also, some materials may have better exchange rates than others, which u might want to consider before using this method.

for example:
4 copper ore (LQ) >> 1 copper ore
1 copper ore >> 2 copper ore (LQ)

whereas
11 spoiled mushroom (or was it 15?) >> 1 common mushroom
1 common mushroom >> 9 spoiled mushroom
(much better exchange rate)

I haven't found a good use from mat comp yet either. perhaps it comes in handy later on tho. Maybe you could take a farmer out since mats seems to drop easier at lower levels. then use mat comp on the main char to make higher grade items you need from the lower grades. Just a guess

Turns vainshed signs into Signs of trace - very useful. But, yes decomping is much better.

It's useful for someone like me who leveled while neglecting my production skills haha. I'm level 58 and I'm still on Elrue[1] and t1 potion production xD

Yeah like NotMyWay said... i use it to recycle materials...

so it saves me some time to have to go farm more high quality materials...

Or when i farm on my alts.. they got a lot of old dust... it saves me some room to comp them into Dim dust and make them into Elrue 2s....
