freestat INT

hi everyone.

if u want to id like u guys to think over this theorie i thought up:

a full INT mage gets alot of extra damage points, thats obvious

mind the dmg PNTS!!

a full SPR mage gets some % bonus on crits and the mdef and sp bonus count a bit as well.

now read carefully: INT gives PNTS
SPR gives %!

so when reached lvl 30 or so, ur stat window will be saying ur magic damage is around the 2xx or something. now at this time u will have received 30+5=35 stat pnts,

all in INT these add: 35x1+7=42 dmg
all in SPR these add: (25x0.2)+(10x0.1)=6%

6% chance to 200% dmg is 0.06x500=30 bonus dmg per shot (coz 6% of all hits are crit and 6% of the doubled dmg (2xx times 2) is about 30 dmg.

so at this lvl full INT is still adding more dmg then full SPR

but as u get higher and higher, the total magic dmg in stat window will increase rapidly however the amount of dmg added per statpnt in INT will stay the same, as will the amount of stat points u get to put in INT

so as u get higher, (and at lvl 30 its already pretty close to eachother) the crit bonus from SPR will start to be a bigger add to ur average total dmg then INT dmg bonus...

so here is the question: is it worth it to put many pnts in INT if the added dmg form these stat pnts will become an unnoticable small part of ur total dmg as u get at higher lvls???

have fun thinking this one over :P

lol i suppose its kinda hard to follow what i said above

it comes down to this:

should we invest stat pnts in SPR bcoz we can et higher INT thrue equip bonusses?

or should we put stat pnts in INT anyways coz it just rox!?

still not getting you...

anyway i think a nice mix of both spr and int is the way to go...get your int or spr to 25 first then put everything else in the other.

or 3int:1spr for those who want some crits on some nice base damage

full int for nuking

full spr for criting

I think he's saying in general: Is it better to go full Int or full Spr? At first Full Int seems awesome as it increases damage and SPR is totally useless as it gives 0.2% to crit until 5% crit only. But at later levels, would a percentage be much more beneficial to your already increased damage by the points you get per level? Does an extra few points in Int increase your damage that much?

It's a good question. But with crit rate as low as 5%, you can't really rely on it. As I don't know how much damage int really increases per point and how the equation is to work out the damage; if you take 10% crit as a full SPR mage, you have a one in ten chance for getting a crit. So for every ten hits, by chance, you should get at least one crit; doubling your damage. But that means your nine other hits are weaker. But with a full INT mage, if the damage increase compared to the normal hit of a SPR mage (i.e. Full Int mage dmg - Full Spr mage dmg (non crit)) multiplied 10 is greater than the bonus dmg from a crit, a full Int Mage wins in damage output.

However, a SPR mage can crit more than once in 10 hits so it's kinda all based on luck. If a crit mage lands 5 crits, the Int mage is definitely out damaged. But if also, the int vs dmg curve is expodential, then there's a high chance int is much more useful.

A mixture seems to be the most popular though cause you can hae higher damage than usual and have a small but decent crit Dx

Hope this helps someone xD ><"

he's saying as your base damage gets higher, the spr is going to show more benefit than the int, since the spr is based off your base damage where as the int is a flat rate.

This is true with all classes as far as spr vs. str as well (with the exception of possibly clerics, who have very low base damage)

The question though is at what level does SPR overtake int?

But % from SPR isn't for dmg, but for crit rate though o:

Assuming that sebasold's assumptions hold true, then for a base damage of <500, full INT (or STR for fighters) gives the greatest damage (over an infinitely large number of attacks); in the range of 550~1150, the mix of 25 SPR and the rest INT gives the greatest damage; and > 1200 full SPR gives the greatest damage output.

At level 52, with my most powerful spells, hits on yellow mobs don't go above 500 =/ On those dark red things, not above 350. I've convinced myself that the 25 points I put into SPR is only useful at killing low level stuff. Oh wait, that can't be useful at all...

i got 35 in spr and i normally do about 589-600 dmg at lvl 51 for crits. Plus also helps u have a nice CG/ggk weapon with int and increased crit rate.

ok so now im having doubts again...

ive got 30 in INT so far, and now have 3 pnts spare, (lvl 28 yes..)

so at the long therm its better to go with full INT u say coz it doesnt seem worth it to put 25 pnts in SPR??

plz let me know..!
