Video card question

So my friend is giving me their old video card and I think its a lot better than mine. It has its own fan! The problem with it though is that it has two white thingies instead of one blue one white like my current one has. We didn't know if the white one could connect to the monitor so we didn't change it. So thats my question. what can I do to use that video card?

My name is Krowley and I will be assisting you today.

The Video Card with the 2 white slots is called DVI

The Video Card with the blue slot is called VGA

The solution you need is called a DVI to VGA adaptor. They should come in the same box as the Video Card.
If not, they range anywhere from $5-$20 and can be purchased at your local computer hardware store.

Woow! Thank you very much. I actually tried to google it but searching "video card white thingie to blue thingie didn't exactly work." Thanks. Hopefully the video card is tons better than my current one.
