Does anyone here play Shayia?

I got tired of fiesta and decided to take a little vacation and found Shaiya. Its almost like WoW in some respects but its a freegame with a cash shop I guess.

The graphics are good in most areas. I get some funny texture errors but they are serverside issues normaly. The fighting is, well, fighting like normal.

Seems to be heavily PVP based. You get global buffs when your alliance wins pvp events and destroys things like relics and shrines. If the goodguys win an event, they get blessing of the goddess which gives the entire servers worth of players on the winning factions team a huge list of buffs, even if you did not participate. The GM's have a constant presense in the game. They seem to be extremely vigilant about 3rd party gold and plvl services. I have YET to see a bot...

The only issue I have is lag. Its a new game, I know, but fiesta seems to have a more stable netcode than shaiya but then again, fiesta is not a graphic intensive so the netcode is obviously gonna be smaller. Its a good distraction.

I tried Last Chaos and from what i heard they are super similar.
Im gunna DL this soon though and give it a try.

Well after a bit of experimenting, the PVP is extremely one sided. Meaning if your a casual gamer, your gonna eat the other guys fist in pvp. Then again I got two strikes going for me. Im an archer and im on a wireless connection in a barracks with lead lined walls. But its been my experience that archers dont fare too well against meatwads (warriors) but they do good against their own kind and squishies (mages).

And there are some hardcore pvpheads in shaiya. Im talking...they are like lvl 40 something off of nothing but pvp, cause the pvp zones have monsters in them and quests too. These guys only leave pvp zones to help guildies.

Some guy snuck up on me and when he one shot me he was all like "OOOO I OWNED YOU HARD YOU F$%IN NOOB!! IN YOUR FACE!! YEAH!!"

The first thing I thought of was farva on the other end, and I couldnt help but laugh.

I also made like 4 more characters. Of note are my Fighter TwoGirls and my priest OneCup. So far NO ONE has got the connection. They just whisper me about how my name doesnt make sense. I am throughly convinced that shaiya is full of naieve preps, so dont play that game if you like to chat about life issues, because some of those people probably think the stork actually brought their siblings.

Cheers for the game, it's holidays now been looking around for something inspiring to get into while I play fiesta casually.

I'll download it tonight and post back tomorrow.

I think it's pretty good so far. It is similar to WoW in many respects, but who says that's a bad thing.

IGN Dynamics on Teos. Level 5ish at the moment, not sure where I'm headed to at all.

Hardcore sucky thing about PVP is that when you pick your mode, easy, normal, hard or ultra, harder difficulties are way more powerful in pvp. I got stomped a few times by this one guy and couldnt explain why it was happening untill I remembered that he was probably hard mode or ultimate. And there is no way to tell who is what mode. Not to mention if you overhear enemies chatting, you cant understand them. Like, you have to buy a skill that lets you be able to read like 30% of enemy text.

In closing: Avoid PVP like the plague. I mean try it out to see what its about, but dont expect to get any kills.

That I can think of, none too different than what fiesta offers. But it is easier to find equipment from drops.

For the sake of an unbiased approach to this game, I have been playing pvp for 7 and a half hours now. I went from no kills to one hundred and eight with my fighter, TwoGirls. The PVP is brutal but you begin to see what to look for, watch player habits. The players who dont throw themselves into the fray or back off when they see a comerade die are more than likely weaker. The fury's assassin, or lights ranger, are insanely overpowered. They are a bit on the squishy side but if someone is experienced as a pvp player with them, you almost wont ever win unless you have a small entourage with you. If you die enough, you start losing items, so that sucks.

The community is also pretty okay. Not as friendly as fiestas, by a long shot, but for some reason this game seems to draw more mature players. I met a 13 year old who had me thinking he was 27, and I was none the wiser untill he told me his age. Overall the community is shrewd to some extent but they are extremely civil.

Watch yourself in the PVP, its addicting.
