I played the Japanese version for like 10 minutes because it was the first day of CB and everyone wanted in. Connecting from half-way across the world you don't stay on long enough...
Anyway, I did at least get one battle in and it's a turn-based battle system... much like the Final Fantasy games. Other than that I can't tell you much so you'll have to go see for yourself.
