La vie en rose
Ok, so me and the French class got to go on a field trip to a movie last Friday! Great, right?
The theater was small; about 25 seats. It was cold. I was annoyed that I couldn't spend the $20 in my pocket on snacks, because they "didn't have a snack bar."
So the movie was called La vie en rose, and was the life story of EdÃÂ*th Piaf, France's most famous singer of the post-WW1 era. It started in a complete poverty stricken town, and was a girl crying as she watched her mother sang/begged. The girl was taken to her whore-house owning Grandmother after the father saw how malnourished the child was. She almost goes blind at the whore house, and regains vision before joining the circius with her father. He quits, and maked her sing on streets, after he finds out how talented she is.
After a line of depressing events, she becomes pretty famous. Her true love die s, and she becomes addicted to morphine.
At 44, she looks 88, and wants to sing once more before dying. After much reflecting and rehab, she sings again.
During her last amazing song, she collapses on stage, and dies.
None of talked, or hardly blinked after the movie.
Disclaimer: Had to do this quickly on cellphone. Excuse ambiguosity. ^^
