This is prolly really cliché and all, but whether you agree with your parents or not (or I do, or anyone else for that matter) I can promise they are trying to do what they believe is the right thing for you. Not too many parents are just “mean†for the fun of it.
Also many people, parents included, are worried, afraid, or even hateful towards things they don’t know or don’t understand. It’s just not in some people’s nature to branch too far outside whatever comfort zone they have.
And of course your “pain†is normal. We have all been there, are there, or will be there
(your parents included). It’s just technology and societal/cultural norms that change how it manifests itself. At the end of the day all decisions will be yours, including what you do, believe, etc…

Maybe someone will add to the wiki very, very soon about how to use the non-paypal/credit card systems for purchasing CS items
Also you may consider having someone purchase a CS item for you and trading it for a good in-game item that would save them time or effort that would be “worth it†to them?
