I have a terabyte HDD already so that's not my problem....
Personally, I think you spend more time cleaning the drive to recuperate the space every time it slightly clogs up, e.g. looking for what to delete. Windows updates will keep coming and take up space. Assuming all of your Steam games, programs, Home folders (Desktop, Music, Downloads, Pictures, Videos) are configured to be placed on the 1TB HDD, the Windows and Office updates alone will fill up the drive eventually.

If the items in bold aren't configured as such, it's a good time to go back to do so.

The main solution is getting a 120+ GB SSD. You only install it once, use the data migration software to move the OS once and you're good to go for the next few years. I mean, I'd prefer a day of hassle and not worry about the same problem over and over.
