Through out levels 1-60, I only empowered the magic missile CD (5 points) and magic burst power (5 points).

Though, magic burst is your only AoE skill from level 20-60, but it's actually not worth empowering (and not really useful in PvP either). With other AoEs, I don't use magic burst as much now.. so it kind of becomes useless at higher levels.

The wiki also have all the information about mage skills if you haven't been to that page yet.
