Pretty much agree with what Loki said on this. Plus, I really,
really don't see how "easy" topics are better. There are so many other sites out there with SOTWs, many of them are so typical and easy - making the sigs being entered boring. It's like having a topic called "Anime". I've seen a zillion of anime sigs everywhere I go, it gets tiring and dull.

Does one actually consider the words when voting or just vote the aesthetics of the image and creativity?

It's all to your own personal preference. If words are important to you, then go ahead and take them into account. For me, I usually look at how the words are fitted into the signature, rather than what it actually says (well, most of the time anyway, there are exceptions). Whereas some others like Spirit, might just go for whichever one that makes them go "COOL!".
