To be honest, i think that those who were spamming the GMs weren't idiots. They were those people who couldn't make +6, got jealous/angry/whatever, and wanted to cancel the event for the rest of the players, on purpose. -_-
Btw the event wasn't canceled, it was "canceled early", meaning the GMs went off before everyone could show their weapons. Those, who could show their weapons to the GM in time have earned their +9s - this is not a rumor, i have my pocketknife +9-ed (lucky-ky!).
