^What you are actually adding is 1.2 damage everytime you add STR. Except, since this is Fiesta and not real world math, it just drops off the decimal. However, when you add +5 STR...
5 x 1.2 = 6
So the decimal is gone and Fiesta can figure out whole numbers again.
