The animation of the buff can be cancelled by jumping, so if the player buffs from a distance and then immediately jumps u will recieve the buff but not see anything.

I rather not buff people random people i dont know though, unless they are kind or have helped me or my frens, or unless they know how to ask in a polite way and with manners, for u will never know who... or what... you are buffing. and i dont heal people in town unless they have like 1hp. stop being so cheap and go buy a house and heal urself.
