Do not back down or give in, because then she knows if she keeps pushing you that you will give in. And if she keeps on, tell her that you have to restart yuor movie now, because she was distracting you, so now she has to wait even longer to watch cartoons.

You have to let them know that you are the boss and what you say goes. Otherwise, they learn rather quickly who they can control by their actions.

And depending on your beliefs, you can always tear their asses up if they misbehave to bad. My mother tore my butt up all the time and I survived.
