A trick that many students of the UofA use before exams is go out in the cold and snow to get yourself chilly, drink a bunch of espresso really quick to heat yourself up fast, then nap as fast as you can before the coffee kicks in, when you wake up you will essentially be on speed, it REALLY helps your memory and alertness for about an hour and then you pass out.
