I find that good concert nowadays mix pre-recorded and real mic noise to get the best quality / performance.

I'm mostly taking examples from HK concerts, they get the artist to sing live through the concert's mic, record it, then replay it during the concert + dance... so it sounds like it's coming straight from the mic, but it's actually pre-recorded..

or like the kpop music bank stuff... they mix a lot of echos into the real music so you almost can't tell if the artist missed a note...
